Deeply personal and revealing, this body of work was inspired by the complete shift of perspective which occurs when one becomes a parent. With a focus on purity of form and fluid continuity, a connectedness unfolds, an opening that reveals the soul and an entirely new way to see the world.
Process
The aperture and apropos series are mostly solid, hot sculpted works of glass art. Due to the weight and incredible physical demands of the material, a team of artists is required to facilitate the creation of these pieces. A delicate balance of heat and form necessitate many things happen simultaneously.
