Spring has sprung as Richard just returned from two visiting artist residencies and we welcomed tours from visiting galleries and their patrons. Additionally, the new website is up and running and Richard has new works in process.
In March Richard worked at the University of Hawaii, Manoa for a week with university students. This was his first time returning to the islands since 2001, when the big Nisqually Earthquake hit Seattle and resulted in major damage in the studio. His return was a much more positive experience and less eventful! Jana and Colette were able to join him in Hawaii and the family enjoyed some much needed R&R.
April took him to Tulsa Glassblowing School for a first time visit where he took part in an exhibition and had a public residency in their hot shop. Both residencies were well attended and very enjoyable for Rich. A big thanks to Rick Mills (University of Hawaii) and Kenneth Gonzales (Tulsa Glassblowing School) for the invitations.
