Borrowed From Nature
The Geometric series is a visual exploration into the theory that all things have a geometric significance or a mathematical sequence, which often builds upon itself to create structure and give form. Examine objects on a micro level and eventually a geometric structure will emerge in its essence, whatever the form might be. My vision is to create organic sculpture using rigid components to portray this concept of growth and clarity in form.
Process
The large-scale sculptures of this series are composed of many individual elements united in a single form. Richard hand fabricates steel molds to shape the repeating elements blown from molten glass.
